Boden SS12

It's here, I've been waiting patiently all morning as I knew it would be live today! What you ask? The Boden Spring collection.  Whilst my budget does not allow a major splurge I am a huge fan of Boden, as many of you know, for their quality, style and love of print and colour.

I want NEED this yellow mac!

So I am off now for a good look! What is on your wish list, I'm yet to make mine.

Have a stylishly fab weekend everyone.

Country Living Christmas Fair

Morning! I can't believe it's Monday again already, the weekends just disappear.  However I did have some exciting news this weekend, my lovely husband, Drew, had entered to win some Country Living Christmas Fair tickets as he knows how much I love this and he won! So I was very excited to receive these two tickets on Saturday in the post, but who to take?  Well I was very lucky to have been given a ticket by a dear Twitter friend earlier this year, but due to illness couldn't make it down to London. So to return the lovely offer I asked Gabs of Moobaacluck to join me on a trip to this years fair.  There are so many of my Twitter friends I really, really want to meet, so am so looking forward to finally meeting Gabs.  I only wish I had more tickets so I could have so many more of you join us! Apparently Drew has entered a couple more competitions to win tickets so watch this space, just incase!!

I will of course be tweeting from Country Living, but not too much as there is just sooooo much to look at.  And I promise there will be lots of lovely posts to follow as I will want to share some fabulous finds and designer makers with you all.

Are you heading to London this week for Country Living Christmas Fair? Maybe you have a stand, let me know & I'll make sure I pop by & say hello.

To make up for not being to take you all I do have a discount for you with one of our partners.  Boden are having one of their diminishing discount promotions and by entering DDCC at the checkout until Thursday you will receive 20% off almost everything! A perfect opportunity to start the Christmas shopping, they do haev lovely nighties for girls or maybe a new hat & scarf set?

Hope you have a good start to the week,
Zoe

Fabric Friday - Boden

I have been sidetracked a couple of times this week by one of my favourite distractions, Boden.  Whilst I do not have a budget that allows to indulge my love of Boden to the extreme I would probably allow, I am lucky enough to own several fabulous items from this fantastic British company.  Also at the fear of my bank manager Drew and our children also have a love of Boden clothing.  But why do we love it so? For me it's the patterns and colours.  I think this is also the reason my daughters love Mini Boden.  My sons thinks it's just cool and were thrilled to see the launch of Johnnie B in the past year or so as they headed in to their teenage years.

I need this coat for my collection!

This week I have been perusing their website to investigate the new Autumn collections and I have not been disappointed.  The past couple of collections seemed to have lost that Boden sparkle for me, maybe the colours had been muted or the patterns not quite so bold.  Yet this week I have been pleasantly surprised.    The colours have been restored and the patterns are as bold as when I first fell in love with Mr Boden's clothes, (as Johnnie Boden is affectionately know in our house).

This skirt belongs in my wardrobe!

I have also been giggling with Drew at the Dancing Dad film, whilst Lucy cringed at the similarities of  her own dancing Dad! The Johnnie B movie was like watching Connor, our eldest, and his mates messing about and the Mini Boden movie made me long for a Volvo Amazon even more.

We need Boden homeware.

However I have been feeling there is still something missing from the Boden brand.  Whilst Mr Boden makes us want to wear his fab clothes with fun movies, great colours, bold patterns and quality you will not find in cheap high street stores, I believe he is yet to complete the Boden family.  I appluade him for finally listening to my pleas for shorter trousers, thank you, I can now wear Boden trousers! I thank him for my delicious choice of coats that are waiting for me in my wardrobe this Autumn.  But please Mr Boden just one more thing, we want, no need, a Boden homeware collection. Tthe above picture shows just how fantastic Boden fabrics would be on a sofa or a lampshade. So please, please, please can we have Boden cushions, lampshades, duvets, melamine paltes for the little ones and so much more.

Have a fab weekend and I hope you'll join me in my crusade for a Boden homewares collection!
Take care

Fabric Friday - Window Shopping

Hip hip hooray it's Fabric Friday!!  I have been digging around my studio this week looking for some patterns as I have felt inspired to create some new clothes for myself and maybe my girls too....if the boys are lucky I may even run them up some PJ trousers!  Whilst my Boden wish list is as long as my arm I know I am capable of running up some fantastic new clothes, especially as there are so many gorgeous fabrics available. I have some great Amy Butler patterns and Weekend Sewing by Heather Ross  which has some great clothes patterns and Seams to Me by Anna Maria Horner even teaches you to make your own skirt pattern, so I'm sure I can add to my summer wardrobe.  Obviously the next stage is fabric shopping....ohh I love this part!  So I am now going window shopping and will share some of my favourites with you.

Groove - Caleb Gray

Heather Bailey - Pop Garden

Heather Ross - Mendocino Seahorses

Echino Nico - Furuya Cars

Michael Miller - Zoology

Alexander Henry - Birdseed

Amy Butler - Tumble Roses

Amy Butler - Paradise Garden

Kristopher K Designs - Daisy Garden

Birch Fabrics - Cars Circa 50

I could list many many more but this post has to end sometime!

(Appologies to regular Fabric Friday readers that I have not focussed on a specific designer.  Business as usual next Friday, with a feature about Cath Kidston to celebrate St. Georges Day).
