Family Fun - Covent Garden Puppet Festival

Good afternoon, I hope you're all having a fab Friday.  This year Mr Punch celebrates his 350th birthday and how better to celebrate than a visit to Covent Garden's Puppet Festival this weekend.  This is one of my favourite parts of London, often filled with street performers so seems the perfect host for such a festival.

On Saturday (tomorrow) a parade of Punch & Judy 'professors' from around the world will wind their way into Covent Garden Piazza at around 2.30pm.  There will be a large tent filled with puppeteers sharing the art of puppetry.  Sunday will be the traditional May Fayre, in St. Paul's Gardens, Bedford Street, WC2E 9ED.   There will be puppet workshops, stalls from local community groups, folk music and maypole dancing.  Entry is of course free and the festival runs from 11am to 5pm each day.  For further information visit www.alternativearts.co.uk or www.thebiggrin350.com

With events like this I wish I lived nearer to London, so please share some photos if you manage to go.

Have a fantastic weekend
Zoe
